  1. Hello Petera, There is no auto-save feature in Nvivo for Mac. You might want to submit a feedback regarding this following below link. https://nvivo.canny.io

Hello Sablhotel, Actually looking for a node or question is not different at all. Let's say you imported a survey data with 10 questions and 250 participants which is coded by two or more researchers. All you need to do is while importing (you can do it later but this way is much easier) code each question with a node. Later, if you would like to compare coding on Question 2 just run a coding comparison query selecting desired users and nodes. You may want to look at detailed description at below link. Please note that it is belong to Nvivo 11 but mechanics of the query are still same. http://help-nv11.qsrinternational.com/desktop/procedures/run_a_coding_comparison_query.htm Hope this helps,
  3. Hello Patric, I am not sure what would developers can do to fix this issue However, as a veteran Zotero user, I can suggest a solution for a streamlined research process. Here is what I have been doing since Nvivo's Zotero integration: Once you begin collecting articles for your literature review do NOT annotate them within Zotero. This way will help you saving a significant amount of time, since you would not need to annotate and then code your data. All you need to do is importing a satisfactory amount of articles into Zotero and export them. While importing references into Nvivo, it is important to select name by author and year so that you can utilize framework matrices for your literature review. Start reading and coding your articles, once you finished coding you can create a framework matrix to display what scholars said about a certain topic (i.e. node). What you see on a framework matrix makes your literature review writing really simple. Please feel free to reach if you need further assistance about this strategy. Hope this helps,
  4. Hello Jeniffer, In Nvivo you can only create a chart for a single node. However, if you would like to see reference frequencies for multiple nodes in your project, you can use matrix coding query which allows you to create both a matrix and a chart. Using Nvivo sample project, let's say you would like to see all nodes under fishing industry decline in interviews considering all 14 interviews as a single data type. To do this, create a node or set that includes all interview data. Then, create a matrix coding query as below: Running this will produce below matrix which you can export as an excel file so that you can create your own bar chart: You will also have an option to create a chart as below (please note that you can NOT display data values with 3rd charts): Hope this helps,
  5. Hello Francisco, The way Nvivo was developed considers that each case should have a single file ( like a transcription of an interview). Therefore, what you had to do is an expected behavior. In order to prevent future copy-paste actions, I would suggest you to keep a single file for each of your cases. However, if your analysis has an aspect of time, like observing a change in opinion of same participant in time, then you would need a different strategy. I would suggest you to look at post below. I hope it will provide you some insight about research with cases that have multiple files.
  6. Hello Adam, I would you suggest you to take a look at below source: http://help-nv11.qsrinternational.com/desktop/procedures/import_(or_export)_classification_sheets.htm Hope this helps, With kind regards,
  7. Hello KGP, Without knowing your exiting coding structure it would be hard to provide a general solution. However, there are some points that I would like to underline. If you would like to see only the thematic coding in your data, chart tool can create a coding chart for only a single file. However, if you have multiple files, which I assume is the case in your analysis, I would suggest utilizing matrix coding query to be able to pick up the desired nodes. You would have option to visualize your data as a chart. Hope this helps, With kind regards,
  8. Hello Alxia, Could you please elaborate more on this with an example? With kind regards,
  9. Hello Adam, Importing survey data in excel format has significant auto coding advantages, especially for your demographic data. Therefore, I would not suggest you to import each row (i.e. each case) as a single file. If coding stripes really help you in your coding/analysis you can still use them in form view of your imported excel file instead of table view. After all, even you import single files for each case, to be able to see stripes in a way you want you would still need to read each file from top to bottom. Below, figure exhibits why you could not utilize stripes. This figure belongs to exact data in form view. This view lets you work on each of your cases separately. Hope this helps, With kind regards,
  10. Hello Jenanne, Moving from your example, I can say that you are on the right track. You may want to create cases for your locations and assign attributes for each different location. You can also create attributes for your descriptive information about these cases. However, please note that if all of your cases do not contain a type of descriptive data, then it would appear as unassigned/not applicable. After completing this with all your sources, then you can create thematic nodes for key concepts like environmental, risk reduction, etc. Such a coding strategy would allow you to create various visualizations of your coded data. Hope this helps, With regards,
  11. Hello Anna, You strategy would differ based on which Nvivo version you are using. Could you please elaborate on that. With regards,
  12. Hello George, I see that you are trying to create a matrix for your thematic content nodes. Please note that framework matrix designed for discovering thematic content for your cases., which is really good for literature review. For detailed information I would suggest you to take a look at Nvivo 11's help documentation ( I do not know why but for some reason it explains better then the current one) below: http://help-nv11.qsrinternational.com/desktop/concepts/about_framework_matrices.htm With kind regards,

Hello, Once a dataset imported you will not be able to edit/redact it. You may have a look below official help page: https://help-nv.qsrinternational.com/12/win/v12.1.90-d3ea61/Content/files/datasets.htm Hope this helps,
  14. Hello Bhupesh, Thank you so much for your response. Following your suggestions, I successfully managed to add users to Collaboration Cloud. However, please note that the information you shared is not documented on official help page. Moreover, Collaboration cloud interface does not have a download progress indicator. I have already provided feedback regarding these on nvivo.canny.io With regards,
  15. Hello JDO, Putting a project file on a cloud for enabling multiple user simultaneous coding is not possible, unless you use Nvivo Server. You may want to re-consider not to perform simultaneous coding. If that is OK for you and your team, then I suggest you to set up a coding schedule for each team member. This way allows other members to continue coding one after another. One thing to remember is each member should first put their project file on their hard drive instead of cloud folder. Once they finish their coding or their time is up, they should save the project on their hard drive (let's say into documents folder) then paste and replace the one project admin saved in cloud folder. Such a routine will prevent unexpected data loss incase you have network connection issues with the cloud service before saving your work. Hope this helps, With kind regards
