  1. Hello again Charles, If you are using previous versions the same feature is named as "New Extract". Regards,
  2. Hello Charles, If you only need to export node name, definition, number of files, and number of references then "Export Codebook" function can help you. To do this please follow blow steps: 1) Select Codes in your navigation view and right click 2) Select New folder and name it "Conditions individuelles" 3) Go to your Nodes and select node "Conditions individuelles" right click and copy (I deliberately want you to copy instead of moving for not to alter your existing node structure) 4) Go to folder "Conditions individuelles" click to select and paste 5) Selec
  3. Hello goatwriter, Indeed I forgot to put in-between criteria. Updated original post.
  4. Hello goatwriter, Stop words feature considers each word separately and does not support quotation marks. However it is still possible to make the analysis you want. First, please go to Project Properties>General>Stop Words and remove "you" from the list. Then make a text search query with below criteria: "you know" ~1 Save the results a a node. (Let's name it "You know") Then make a compound query with below criteria: Compound Criteria>Subquery 1 >Text search Criteria> Search for: know Finding matches: Exact Search in:
  5. Hello Alf, Nvivo makes lit-review process quite straightforward and easy. After trying several strategies, I decided that the best way is to import your lit-resources from a reference manager. Most of the time I also obtain books that has several chapters from other authors. Since it is required to cite each chapter individually, I create separate records for each chapter in Zotero. However, instead of splitting the book into its chapters, which obviously take too much of a time as you mentioned, I simply attach the whole book into every record. While coding my re
  6. Hello Shahi, You can share your Nvivo Mac project file with your instructor. Nvivo for Windows has a built in capability to convert Nvivo for Mac project files. However there are some limitations you might need to consider. Please refer to : Converting projects between Windows and Mac for further details. Hope this helps, Regards,
  7. Hello Sandra, If you would like to work on a project with multiple computers, I strongly recommend using external drive storage over cloud server. The reason is that when you save a NVivo project file, cloud service client immediately attempts to synchronize these changes to the project file which is stored within the cloud. However, the client will be unable to access the project file because NVivo has exclusive access to the file while the project is open in NVivo which can cause problems that might even lead to data loss. In addition to that please make sure to set project re
  8. Hello AmirM, You can import a Word document, rich text document or plain text file containing a transcription of an audio or video source. Thus you might want to open your VTT file with a browser then copy and prepare a file in above mentioned format. Please refer to below link for further details: https://help-nv11.qsrinternational.com/desktop/procedures/import_audio_or_video_transcripts.htm Hope this helps
  9. You are right! Windows version allows you to import them. Regards,
  10. Hello again AmirM, When you follow above steps on the word "water" will be coded withe node you created. The content is displayed in gray by default that does not mean that those words will be coded. To check, open the node you created and select text tab and open one of the sources you will see that only "water" will be highlighted. Regards,
  11. Hello AmirM, In the Mac version annotations would not be imported. Please follow below source ( it belongs to a earlier version but still relevant) https://help-nv11mac.qsrinternational.com/desktop/procedures/import_items_from_another_nvivo_project.htm Hope this helps, Regards,
  12. Hello PTaylor, Coloring feature in hierarchy charts allows you to compare same level members of a given hierarchy. Thus, if you select the top level "Psychological Skills" node you are not comparing it something to any same level node and all nodes in your project belongs to that top level node that's why you will get same color. You will get the same if you choose "Coaching and Tools" parent node and create a hierarchy chart. In order to get what you want just select your 2nd level parent nodes and create a hierarchy chart. When presenting you would not need to show
  13. Hello AmirM, You can definitely do that! Before running your query, please make sure you selected "exact matches" Once you completed your text search query, you will see a "save results" button on the top right next to the "run query". Click that give your code a name and choose a location for it. Hope this helps, Regards,
  14. Hello Adam, The easiest way to solve this issue would be to combine all 4 transcripts into a single document. Then apply classifications to your 50 documents. However, in my experience, combining transcripts is not an option in many situations, since each unique document has its own unique data characteristics. In that case, I would suggest you to look at this topic that I previously shared my ideas about a similar question. http://forums.qsrinternational.com/index.php?showtopic=5782&hl=canarik#entry16869 Hope this helps,
