  1. Thanks Pat. I think I screwed up the columns initially by resizing them ... and that is where 3rd and higher level refs got hidden. Somehow I got them back, but I know a 2nd person who had the same problem as me. Print the list of nodes and sub-nodes is excellent for writing articles etc... everything is there before you ... except when the #refs in level 3 or higher disappear. Any case, thanks for responding! Best, Daniel, Canada

  3. Dunno why, but when I want to print a page with the # refs, it will only print TWO levels deep. If a third level is present, the # refs does not appear. Any help on this? Thanks. Daniel, Laurentian University Canada
  4. Can now confirm that NVIVO7 runs on my new IMAC using PARALLELS software. Runs as a fully resizeable window. A few minor issues occurred during activation but this is due to having already registered NVIVO on my older PC computer, not due to any IMAC incompatibilities. I simply emailed the company and they sent me a process for reactivation. Hope this helps. NVivo DOES run on the IMAC.
  5. Thanks much for the information. Glad that NVivo7 now runs smoothly on the IMAC without special tweaks. Sounds like your installation is quite good. I have purchased (still waiting for delivery though) an IMAC 20 inch, 2 gigs ram, 500 gigs hard disk, 256mb video ram. Was pretty worried about Nvivo not running, but now that I know it does, things are great. I will likely have to contact QSR about an activation license though. When I installed Windows Vista, I had run out of activation licenses and couldn't install beyond the initial trial period built into the software. This is probably what happened for someone else in this forum, saying they couldn't activate Nvivo. I simply emailed QSR and they provided me with information on how to do it (another activation number). Thanks again. Much appreciated. Best, Daniel
  6. Thanks much, Rob. I have read earlier reports from last year that NVivo did run to some degree, but if it runs only in a small window, it's not going to be easy to use. Still leaning towards the IMAC, but NVIVO is an important part of that decisions. Best, Daniel, Canada
  7. I am thinking of purchasing an IMAC with Parallels software. Can Nvivo7 run cleanly under an IMAC (and Parallels)? Can Nvivo run FULL SCREEN now or is still limited to partial screen? Best, Daniel, Canada
  8. Thinking about buying an IMAC but want to make sure Nvivo7 runs under it. I think Parallels is the software the store is recommending in general . So just checking for latest (May 15) updates here... 1) Does NVIVO run under Parallels without special tweaks etc? 2) if there are tweaks, are they complicated? 3) can you run Nvivo FULL SCREEN now? Best, Daniel

Right click on the folder.... PROPERTIES.... make sure it's not hidden or read-only.

Sounds great and creative. Good stuff! I was able to ship my file to QSR and they repaired the database and sent it back within a matter of days. Great service. I'm now checking to see if everything is intact and it looks like they did a good job. Best, Daniel
  11. Can you EXPORT the results to an Excel spreadsheet, from which you can make the graph? Daniel
  12. FYI your earlier comment.. I don't think it matters how many subnodes you have. I have 3 levels under some of the nodes... and sometimes about 10-15 subnodes under a major category. I try to keep the main nodes to 10-15 max (easier to navigate) then expand the number considerably as subnodes under the main nodes... Also easier when you print it out either directly or as an Export to Excel (make sure you ahve the + signs expanded before you export). Dan
  13. Not sure how to help you. You should be able to resize the windows easily with your cursor... Hm.... Are you in text editing more perhaps??? Dan
  14. hey again. Seems like you're putting organizing the mass of codes. Sounds good. As far as seeing all nodes, are you displaying them sideways or on the bottom? Have you resized the window? I shrink the left-hand most window to almost nothing and increase the nodes and text windows. Just a thought.. Best, Daniel
