  1. Hi, Posted this in 'question and answer' but perhaps it is better here. I am a PhD student and a new user of NVIVO7. I am working with the transcript of a focus group with a number of participants and am coding each individual's comments to their own case node. I also conducted separate, individual interviews with a couple of participants in the focus group. How would you treat the group as a whole? I am thinking of creating another case node of 'focus group,' coding the whole source to it, and creating a unidirectional relationship between the focup group case node and each of the pa
  2. I have experimented with models and when I model a document and choose to add project items (choose to add document then tick 'items coding'), all the nodes appear. The problem is that they appear without showing any relationship to each other. Why wouldn't child nodes appear automatically connected to their parent nodes instead of parent nodes, child nodes and free nodes all looking alike and each simply connects to the case. I would prefer it appear as it does when you create a model by adding the nodes as project items themselves (ticking child and parent boxes). Then the hierarchy is part
  3. I just imported a transcript from MSWord that contained 'comments.' It seems to me these serve much the same function as NVIVO7's 'annotations.' Yet, the comments were lost on import. Why not have them automatically appear as annotations?

  5. Hello all, I am just learning NVIVO 7 so that I can use it to analyze qualitative data I collected for my PhD.
