  1. Hi! I'm new to NVivo but very excited to learn more. I have a quick question today that I hope has a very simple answer. How do I take two query results and generate some sort of comparative data between the two? I am using NVivo 10. For example, I would like to generate word frequency query results from both pre-class essays and post-class essays, and then I would like to see results about the change in word frequencies between the two. Clearly this is something that could be done manually by comparing the two query result pages, or visually by examining the word clouds generated by both inquiries, but is there any way to do this automatically with NVivo and maybe generate mathematical comparisons in the process? Thank you for any insight or advice you may be able to offer.
  2. Hi Team, If we generate the results for crosstab/matrix etc. and save them in query results, but if we make changes to the coding (delete some file that we don't need anymore) at a later stage, the existing results are not updating. And, I don't see any option to 'update the results'. Is there any way of doing this? Thanks
  3. Hello all ? I am trying to figure out how to design my research recently. I have already used the Ncapture plugin to collect data from newpapers web pages and imported them to Nvivo. I put each article in it's related folder in internals folder. I got 5 keywords that i used for searching on those web pages. Internals got 5 of those keywords. All keyword folders has 6 folders representing years of these articles. 2011,2012,..,2016. And each year has 12 folders representing months of each article. January, February,..December. I would like to use matrix query for optaining visual charts, examine them and write my comments in my thesis. Also, i would like to track the changes of some topics yearly and monthly and try to explain and write about them. Now i got more than 7500 articles in internals in their mentioned folders. Nothing coded yet, no nodes yet. I have read so many things and watched so many help videos so far but i am not sure how to design my data in order to make my future work easy. Forexample should i create source nodes and apply attributes or create cases and attributes? Or my internals folders structure is able to answer my research needs? So flexible and so cool, Nvivo is initially complex eh?

    Now what?

What do we do after we are done coding our data? How do we review the codes and download/export them for further analysis and presentation of the information either in writing or ppt.?
  5. Hi, I am working with interviews conducted at the beginning and at the end of the project. I have organised the sources in two folders R1 and R2 interviews. Then I have coded each interview in the nodes (these nodes are thematic). I would like to observe/compare the information coded over time, between R1 and R2. I would like to see what happen for any individual and for the group as a whole. I am not sure if the classifications may be useful for this purpose. Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks Rocio
  6. I have NVIVO version 10, and have just confirmed that I am up to date on the current updates released through the website. I am having a difficult time analyzing my data: I would like to be able to have NVIVO quantify/rank common nodes found when I query for multiple nodes by attribute (For example, looking at participants' responses to several similar questions, seperatly among Black participants and among White participants). I am watching the Tutorial: Exploring your coding. In the video (Screenshot attached), and they refer you to the 'Query wizard' button. I don't have this button in my version (Screenshot attached) I am wondering if me not having this button is a big factor in why I cannot get NVIVO to do the analysis I would like. Also, if anyone is able to tell me how to have NVIVO quantify and rank common nodes found when I query for multiple nodes by attribute, I would really appreciate it. I am really looking for NVIVO to output a list (with percentages) of all the other nodes found when I query for particular nodes. Thanks! NVIVO missing button4_.pdf
