This video shows the AI tools that NVivo has for automatic coding and how to leverage them to best advantage
  2. I'm working on a study where new interview transcriptions are added to the data set continually. Many of these new interviews are conducted with persons that we have interviewed on one or more previous occasions. My question is: how do you autocode statements from participants in group interviews in such a way that they are added to the respective existing cases related to the persons in question? Sorry, if this question has been asked before - I couldn't find it in the history.
  3. Hello, [Nvivo release 1.6 (4825) in Mac] I conducted qualitative research using WhatsApp groups. The data contain emojis. When auto-coding by speaker, there is a bug: the last syllables (or exclamation marks) of each speakers go to the next speaker as per here. The solution was substituting all emojis for words, for example 🙂 for "[happy face]", and everything works fine as per here. Worth taking a look at this, as carrying out research via WhatsApp is certainly not very popular, but it is gaining traction. Javier
  4. Hello everyone, In Nvivo you can use automatic coding feature to code your data. Windows: Mac: Regards
  5. I have begun a trial for my team and hit a snag: I have 7 interviews in a Word files that we're formatted for the use style or structure auto wizard. The wizard works When I attempt identify theme I am receiving "unable to identify themes - An error occurred launching the process to code your files. Please try agai." error.
  6. Hi there, I downloaded around 30,000 tweets from a specific organisation that I am analysing without using the NCapture feature. However, when I import the dataset from an excel file, NVivo does not recognise it as a social media dataset, thus it does not offer me the auto-code option that creates a code for each hashtag and user mention on the dataset. Is there a way to import this excel document of tweets into NVivo as a Twitter specific dataset? Or how could I autocode the hashtags and user mentions (So I can have one code for each hashtag and user mention)? I am using a NVivo 11 Pro and a Mac version. Thank you in advance.
  7. Hi. I'm trying to autocode. I have formatted my document in Microsoft Word 2007 (PC) and applied Header Style 2 to each speaker (usually just Interviewer and Participant, though sometimes an extra person). The Header styles are clearly present in word ( I tested by inserting a TOC based on header styles) - but when I import to Nvivo and -> autocode the only option available is 'normal' - Nvivo isn't recognizing the applied header styles. I've attached a modified example of one of my transcripts. Transcription_example_lorum_ipsum.docx
