Hello everyone, Knowing how to protect your research project is extremely important in scholarly work. In this video, I explained Nvivo's built-in project backup and recovery features as well as my best practices of avoiding data loss, especially when you are using a cloud service as your data backup preference. For detailed information of Nvivo's project backup and recovery features please refer here. I hope this helps, Please share your ideas using "write a review" button below. Regards, -

Hello, It would be great if you could give me some best practice advice on how to best backup literature analysis data coded in NVivo. I would also be happy to pull out manual spreadsheets if this means I will be able I won't lose the information I already developed. I would like to backup the following: - References, codes and annotations for each pdf. - Node structure and nodes and all pdfs that fall into each of these node categories Many thanks, A

I just got back to work on my project and upon loading NV have discovered that my project file is CORRUPTED! After looking through the forums I see this is a common issue with NV, but has no posted solution. Please advise on recovery of my project ASAP, thanks! Also 1 great way of avoiding this issue would be the ability to "SAVE AS" so that one can save their project as they progress. Not only does this allow one to start over (or try different methods) from various stages in the project they also serve as backups and help avoiding a complete restart of the entire project. The ability to also simply make a copy of a file (drag and drop onto USB, like every other program that exists) is essential. Why these options are missing on a program that researchers pour so much time, effort and data into, where we have so much to lose, is beyond me.
