Hi I have coded at very many nodes. I now need to find annotations that were coded at Node A, but NOT also coded at Node B. (I want to have the ones coded at A, but exclude B ) It should not matter if they at the same time are coded at node x,y,z. Any suggestions for Mac users? /GreenvalleyAnna
I'm trying to use Boolean-type operators for an advanced coding query in Nvivo 10. Here (in ordinary Stata-type analysis language) is what I would like to do: Generate results for: (node == Sumba AND source == (letters OR diaries OR reading)) OR ((node == Sumba AND node == Book) AND source == master) In other words, I have four sources. I would like to combine, in one set of results, a certain combination of search criteria for one souce, and another search criterion for the other three sources. I have tried to do this using the drop-downs in Advanced Coding search, but encounter two major problems. 1) Though one is given the option of IN (Selected Items) for each set of query terms, it appears to only use one -- whichever is entered last before the run -- for all query terms. 2) I can't find a way of odering the search (effectively putting brackets around parts of the query), so that it knows which ANDs and ORs refer to which sub-sets of the query. I'm new to Nvivo (working with Nvivo 10 running on XP through Parallels on a Mac); I'm sure there's some obvious solution but can't find it in Help or the forums. Thanks for pointers.
