  1. I am coding using the drag and drop method in which document text is highlighted and dragged to the node. Highlighting works fine, but I can't establish a pattern of why the dragging intermittently fails about half the time. When it doesn't work, the highlighted text becomes unhighlighted and starts highlighting again where I click the cursor. The best I can tell, unless I click exactly on the black text that is highlighted (not on any whitespace, even it is the space in the "O" of the text), the drag will fail. I find that I can most successfully drag the highlighted text when I click on an "e" because the white space is small. This is highly frustrating because even then it doesn't always grab the text. Does anyone else have this issue? Is this a bug? If not, does anyone have a recommendation to make dragging attempts more successful? NVIVO 10.1.0 (1179) on OS 10.9.5 Thanks
  2. My institution has access to NVivo 12, but after signing up to use transcription service, I get an error message unable to log in'. How do I fix this as soon as possible?
  3. Large project in progress. Many transcribed interviews and currently 2000 nodes! Applied all the optimisation tricks. Upgraded to Windows 10. Increased RAM to 12GB. Occurs on different computer. Basically when I copy and merge nodes (as part of sorting), randomly NVivo10 will stop responding. Sometimes this is with just a couple of small nodes being merged. When NVivo fails/crashes/lags for me, CPU and Memory usage still seem low. Recent error code also included. Anyone else encountered this? 4. Dear community, I just encountered a strange phenomenon when trying to merge to projects from our group. We all use Version 1.4.1 (851). The files in the projects merge fine, no problem here. The code names, properties, colors and hierarchies are identical. However, they all get doubled [-> (2)]. I also tested adding a new (identical) testcode to each project and merge it -> same result. Now, here is why I think a bug might be part of the problem: One coder used the program with the German interface, the other used it with the English interface. However, the sections (blue side bar) do not all get translated when I use either version. Especially the section for the codes remains "Codes" for one project but "Kodes" for the other. And this is something I cannot edit. I tried changing the project properties as well as the program language multiple times, to no avail. Since the testcode also gets duplicated although it does not have any properties whatsoever, I tend to believe this difference in the letter K/C is the problem. Especially since the hierarchical names cannot be identical in that regard -> Codes\\XYZ vs. Kodes\\XYZ. After the merge, both the original and the imported duplicate have the hierarchical name starting with Codes\\XYZ, because "Kodes" technically does not exist. Do you have any idea how to work around this issue? Best regards, Rob
  5. Hi there, I recently added some new records to my Nvivo file. It is a large file with approx 1000 pdfs/records that have already been extensively coded. I am using Nvivo 12 (12.6.0). I have tried running several searches for keywords using 'text query' on all 'files and externals' and I received some troubling results. First, when I rerun previous searches instead of getting the same number plus one or two more results (to reflect any new hits in the recently added records), I am getting significantly fewer (hundreds fewer) results. In other words, Nvivo is not picking up some of the records it previously found and saved to a node. Second, when I search for the word 'health', for example, again using 'text query' on all 'files and externals', it returns some records with the word health but not all. For example, I know of some records that have the word health in the body of their text but the record is not in the search results when I search for the word health. This record that I know contains the word health but is not appearing in the search results, has been previously coded using this search>save results as node process, so it cannot be a problem with the record. It's like the text search function has a bug. I submitted a support ticket to Nvivo on Monday at 11:42am AEST (00715692) but have not received a reply (other than the auto-responder). Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
