  1. Hello all. I wonder if you can help. I am trying to link sources to case classifications. Under case classifications I have a list of the interviewees with details about their gender and background. I have a number of sources - interviews (sometimes 2 files), notes, etc. The sources are coded but I wanted to run analysis seeing how noding changes depending on gender and background. To do that I'll need to link the sources to each case. How would I do that in such a way I could run an appropriate query? Thanks.
  2. Hej, In terms of setting up my project, I would like to find the best approach. I want to basically establish an actor-place network - who has been where, when and why and what have they generally said. Thus far, I have created a few cases based on persons, now I wanted to created new cases based on organizations, like Harvard University, but I seem to unable to link them, i.e. code one to the other? Do I have to code places as regular nodes?? Best, SCW

  4. Hello everyone! My organization recently purchased Nvivo 11 for qualitatively analyzing our open ended survey responses. I am using the text search query function to create nodes based on pre-established themes for our data. I input the data from an excel spreadsheet that has the following items: respondent id, gender, class year, open ended comment. I have been able to create the nodes based on our themes and export the findings in excel as: id, comment. What I would like to do is export the node with the case classifications as well, similar to how it was imported. My goal is to
  5. Hi, I am using the latest version of Macintosh and I am currently working on the literature review. I am using different documents but they are written by the same author. I have viewed the youtube and for those documents written by the same authors, they should be classified as one case. So in this case, I am trying to merge these separate cases into one main case that capture the information on that author who wrote different documents. However, I have a problem that I could not merge these selected cases into one case. I have searched for information on how to merge selected cases but
  6. I am hoping for some assistance--in NVivo 9, I do not see how to do something that I knew how to do in NVivo 8. I typically identified whole interviews as "Cases" in NVivo 8--e.g., all interviews of doctors as one type of case, all interviews of nurses as another type of case. I do not see how to do that in NVivo 9. 1. The "Classification" feature in NVivo 9 appears to not be a replacement for the Cases feature, because each document can only be classified as one thing. I want to be able to classify documents in two categories*. 2. Brief internet searching** led me to believe that the
