Hello everyone, Nvivo and Citavi allow you to adopt various strategies for your literature review. In this video, I am describing a way that focuses on facilitating your literature review writing process. Once you collected your relevant resources for your literature review (for the whole literature review section or any sub-section) and complete reading, you create your categories to represent sections and sub-sections of your paper. These sub-sections reflect themes in your literature review process. You can export your Citavi project and import it into Nvivo so that you can code your resources with your theme codes (and their sub-codes). Then, you can create a Framework Matrix in which you can see different conceptual approaches in a single column. The data presented in such a Framework Matrix will be helpful while you create your Knowledge Items in your Citavi project. I hope this helps, Please do share your strategies here, Regards, -
Hello everyone, When writing your literature review, it is critical to review different approaches to concepts that are relevant to your research question(s). Therefore to summarize those selected sources then synthesizing them with your standpoint through paraphrasing, first, you need to read selected sources thoroughly. Nvivo provides you great assistance to review your selected resources via its import bibliography and framework matrices features. Once you located your resources and imported them into Citavi (or other reference management software), you can export your references and files then import them into Nvivo. While importing, please choose 'name by' setting as 'Author and Year' then; start your coding process. After completing your coding, you can create a framework matrix putting your conceptual codes on columns and authors on rows. Doing so will allow you to see the coded context for each author's opinion on your research concepts. Such an ability to see all relevant approaches in a row will facilitate writing 'Knowledge' items in Citavi. If you have not tried already, please do so and share your experience here with us. Regards,
