  1. I'm trying to automate adding classifications in my dataset. I have gone through the steps outlined in the below in the 'Classify nodes from values in a dataset' section http://help-nv10.qsrinternational.com/desktop/procedures/classify_nodes_(set_attribute_values_to_record_information).htm? When I go to 'Classify Nodes from Dataset' I get the attached error message, 'Before classifying, you need to add at least one classification to your project'. My dataset does have classifying fields uploaded, and I have autocoded each row for each respondent. What else am I missing? With thanks, Julia
  2. Hi all, Apologies if this is a silly question, but I am new to NVivo and haven't been able to find the answer to my problem through other channels. I have an Excel spreadsheet of survey responses (477 unique respondents, one row for each respondent), with both open-ended (free text) and closed-ended questions. I am importing the open-ended questions as codable fields and understand that I am best to import the closed-ended questions as classifying fields. However, the import wizard in NVivo is automatically assigning some of my closed-ended fields as codable fields and it will not let me change these to classifying. Does anyone know why this is, if I can change it? The closed fields I am having problems with have very long text entries (up to 20 words) and I wonder if this is part of the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks
