  1. Hello everyone, During your coding process, you might need to delete a parent-code which has sub-code(s). To do this 1) Select sub-code(s) 2) Right-click and choose cut 3) Click a space in list view 4) Right-click click paste I hope this helps, Regards,
  2. Hello, I am analysing a focus group interview. I have coded per person participating, and also per turn of speech and of course have applied different codes depending on the kind of statements or questions the participants make. I am trying to develop a chronological sequence of codes for each person participating in the focus group. That is, for instance, when person A first suggests ,then questions, then clarifies, I would like to have a way to present how these codes appear chronologically (not the corresponding coded parts of the interview). That is, in this case something in the lines of: A--> suggest (code1), questions (code 2), clarifies (code 3).. and so on. This for each participant in the focus group. I have 6 participants. Could you please help? Is there a way? Many thanks, Thanos
  3. Hello, [Nvivo release 1.6 (4825) in Mac] I conducted qualitative research using WhatsApp groups. The data contain emojis. When auto-coding by speaker, there is a bug: the last syllables (or exclamation marks) of each speakers go to the next speaker as per here. The solution was substituting all emojis for words, for example πŸ™‚ for "[happy face]", and everything works fine as per here. Worth taking a look at this, as carrying out research via WhatsApp is certainly not very popular, but it is gaining traction. Javier

  5. Hello! This might be a pretty basic question, but I'm rather new to NVivo. My colleague and I have been making annotations on the same word document transcript for qualitative coding. Is there a way to easily sort our code (i.e. consistently highlight with different colors, etc) to distinguish who has worked on what? Any advice is appreciated.
