  1. While working with a large dataset of survey comments I have been using the "Copy" and "Merge into selected Node" functions to shrink the number of nodes after auto-coding the comment data. I thought that merging in the references would bring in all unique references, but I see now that I was also duplicating references already in the node (e.g., I had a node with A, B, and C, and a node with B, C, and D. I thought after merging I would have A, B, C, and, D but I actually have A, B, B, C C, and D). Because I have thousands of comments manually uncoding is a problem. I am looking for an efficient way to remove duplicate references within each node so that I can see what my count of unique references is. Thank you for any input you have!
  2. Large project in progress. Many transcribed interviews and currently 2000 nodes! Applied all the optimisation tricks. Upgraded to Windows 10. Increased RAM to 12GB. Occurs on different computer. Basically when I copy and merge nodes (as part of sorting), randomly NVivo10 will stop responding. Sometimes this is with just a couple of small nodes being merged. When NVivo fails/crashes/lags for me, CPU and Memory usage still seem low. Recent error code also included. Anyone else encountered this? CORRUPT FILE!

I just got back to work on my project and upon loading NV have discovered that my project file is CORRUPTED! After looking through the forums I see this is a common issue with NV, but has no posted solution. Please advise on recovery of my project ASAP, thanks! Also 1 great way of avoiding this issue would be the ability to "SAVE AS" so that one can save their project as they progress. Not only does this allow one to start over (or try different methods) from various stages in the project they also serve as backups and help avoiding a complete restart of the entire project. The ability to also simply make a copy of a file (drag and drop onto USB, like every other program that exists) is essential. Why these options are missing on a program that researchers pour so much time, effort and data into, where we have so much to lose, is beyond me.
