I have a project that is reviewing documents for all 50 US states. Each state is a case and each file is appropriately coded to that case. I have completed my coding and I now want to extract my data for quantitative analysis in excel. It seems like the extract "coding summary by code" extract gives me most of what I need - it gives me all of my coding, the files that were coded, and the coded text. However, I cannot figure out how to add a field that would include the case to which the file was coded. I tried adding "Intersecting Case.Classification.Name" but that field comes up blank in the extract. Any advice?

Hello, I am an infrequent NVivo user, so apologies if this is an easy question but I haven't been able to find an answer on the internet anywhere. I have survey data (dataset) that I have coded to a coding structure. I am running an Extract (View = node, fields = Node/Hierarchical Name & Coding Source.Coding Reference/Coded text) to create a dataset that can be used in other software. In addition to extracting the coded text and the node that it is coded to, I would like to be able to extract the row ID that the comment has come from as an additional column. Is there a way to do this? Many thanks

Hi I've been through all the help files on reports and extracts and queries and tried so many things I just want to know how to return all of the coding at all nodes grouped by cases which have a particular value for one attribute. to clarify with an example, I have several childcare centres in this sample. Their individual names are the different values of the 'centre' attribute. So I want to see all of the coding from the many interview with the staff from each centre organised by centre (to understand data for each centre as a whole). thanks

Hi , I would like to generate an extract to assist with obtaining quantitative results. I want to use the file directly with the statistical program Stata. I need an excel file that shows only one line per table row in each of my video audio sources. For example, I have 5 sources. Each source has 500 lines with multiple types of codes applied to each row. I want to create an extract that generates 2500 lines to correspond to each of the 5 sources 500 lines and additional columns to show me the codes I have applied on each of these rows. I have tried a source extract in multiple configurations, but it does not correspond to the source rows. Instead, it generates a new line for each applied code, resulting in a file that has 5,000 rows. Can you help me to correctly create an extract with these requirements? Is it possible? Joy
