I saw this in the forum but nobody replied. I have NVivo 12 for Mac. The application didn't close, so I restarted my computer. This window popped up today when I tried to open it again.

Corrupted file can't be opened
Jordi Comas posted a topic in NVivo 12 for Windows and Older Versions
SO, we have a project. Leo, my co-researcher, opens project.nvp on his machine. It is saved in a shared google drive space. He adds some nodes. It is June 23, 2015 He comes back next day to his machine. He can't open the project.nvp file. The error message says "the project will not open and appears to be corrupt. Nvivo may have been shut down abnormally..." He has no memory of shutting down computer, but we think laptop sleep mode may be the culprit. On June 24, I look at the folder and I see project.nvp with last modified of June 23. I open it and can see all the work down up to the point Leo started adding things. Leo cannot even open this project.nvp file. In other words same file will open on one machine and not on other. I use the "copy project" command to make project 2.nvp. I can open this project. Leo still cannot on his machine. a) Is there a way to avoid loosing work due to the computer going into sleep mode? b ) WHy can't he open the older version or a copy of it? Is there a way to clean up his installation?
