  1. Hello good morning, I have a question about collecting data on Twitter. When I compile the last publications made about a certain keyword there is no problem and Ncapture captures you the publications as a database. The problem is when I give advanced search on Twitter and try to find messages on certain dates, for example, from January 1 to January 31, 2018. Here Ncapture does not extract any publication as a database, I do not understand it, because that the messages appear in the same way as if they did the last searches. I have tried to search for publications in a specific geogr
  2. Hi, I have the NCapture google chrome extension and I have been trying to capture tweets after using an advanced Twitter search. For the search, I have added in special date parameters (until:2020-04-30 since:2020-04-01) When I do the search in Twitter I see tweets come up, but when I use the NCapture extension to capture the tweets, it says it captured 0 tweets. More specifically, the search I am using in twitter is: tanning "tanning bed" until:2020-04-30 since:2020-04-01 -filter:replies
  3. Hi, I just downloaded Nvivo 12 on Windows, but am now unable to run Ncapture on Chrome to pull Twitter data (Ncapture was running before I downloaded Nvivo). The authorize window pops up when I try to run Ncapture on the Twitter page, I click authorize, but am getting an error message: "Authentication failed : Status code: 401" and the dataset file is not generated. I tried removing the Ncapture extension and re-downloading the extension, but the same error comes up. Any ideas on why and how to fix this? Thank you!
  4. Hi there, I downloaded around 30,000 tweets from a specific organisation that I am analysing without using the NCapture feature. However, when I import the dataset from an excel file, NVivo does not recognise it as a social media dataset, thus it does not offer me the auto-code option that creates a code for each hashtag and user mention on the dataset. Is there a way to import this excel document of tweets into NVivo as a Twitter specific dataset? Or how could I autocode the hashtags and user mentions (So I can have one code for each hashtag and user mention)? I am using a NViv
  5. Hello, I have two questions in this post actually, but first background. I have 3 weeks of data which I took off of Twitter. I did a search for a particular hashtag and then collected on a week to week basis all the tweets that included that hashtag. I realized after the fact that I cannot collect these tweets as anything but a PDF file because they are not from the past 2 weeks. I have started going through the tweets one by one and copy and pasting data from the PDF into an excel to make it look like a dataset file taken from twitter. My questions are as follows: 1) is there
  6. Hello, I'm working on a project in which I analyze certain tweets from accounts. I was using NCapture for NVivo to download tweets from a particular account into a dataset and import it into NVivo. But it stopped working. Tweets I collected from a user's homepage only went back so far. I used Advanced Search to collect data further back in the timeline, but NCapture won't collect information from the Advanced Search. Am I doing something wrong? I was told it would still work for advanced search. Thank you for your advice and help!
  7. First time poster so I apologise if this has already been asked. I am collecting data off of Twitter using NCapture (with Nvivo Pro 11) across several different days and the NCapture has a few days in which the collection as overlapped. for example, I have collected Twitter data for a particular hashtag I am studying from August 1-24, I have done this in several stints as trying to use the advanced search function and cycle through over 2 weeks of data is very time consuming. in doing this I have realized that I accidentally collected parts of the same day twice and there may be some o
  8. Hello, I am coding tweets I captured, but I have one big issue I can't solve (and couldn't find ressources online to help) : I code (manually) tweets, but when I move to the node, to see the coded tweets, usernames are not displayed, I can only view verbatims (but not who wrote the tweet!), which is very problematic as I can't follow the conversation.. (and also improve the codes created) I did the autocoding to code as case nodes name users, maybe there is something else I should add/do to link it within the theme nodes ..? Hope my question is clear enough Thanks for the help
  9. Hello, I have installed NCapture on my chrome browser on my new mac. I noticed when I capture data from Twitter as a dataset using NCapture, NVivo10 for Mac does not recognize the .nvcx file type and I cannot import the captured dataset. Could you please fix this issue or explain to me what I am doing wrong and how to fix it. Many thanks Melissa
