I was so looking forward to a better implementation of Pdf documents in NVivo 9, but was greatly disappointed when I used the trial software for the first time this morning. In short, NVivo 9 is far from reading Pdf-documents as it should: all my spanish Pdfs have all special characters substituted. Just a sample of some other problems:

This is not the solution I was looking for.

Hi Adam,

It seems that NVIVO9 crashes quite easily when importing PDFs. Maybe it is an idea to disable the PDF import functionailty in a next update till it is implemented differently in a new version (the PDFs I am importing are nothing special, just articles from academic libraries.) At the moment at best an imported PDF turns up corrupted / not usable, at worst NVIVO9 will crash

Hello Bert,

We have tried to improve PDF support in NVivo 9, so if you are seeing otherwise (PDf's importing in NVivo 8 that do not import in NVivo 9) please contact support via QSR Support.

Thanks for the post.

Darren
