System hangs while working with memos

When I work in memos I am typically able to add about three lines and then the system hangs. I can wait about 10 minutes for the problem to resolve, otherwise I have to restart NVivo entirely. Saving the memo and/or the entire project does not help. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I have only encountered it since the most recent update. Thanks, Valerie

Could you please perform the following steps?


  1. Please check if there is a default printer set on your Mac by following the instructions below:

1. Click Apple Icon > System Preferences....

2. Do one of the following:

o In Mac OS X 10.7 and Max OS X 10.8, click Print & Scan.

o In Mac OS X 10.9, click Printers & Scanners.

3. Click the drop-down menu labeled Default Printer and select the desired printer.

4. Close the window.

The printer you selected is now set as the default printer.


2. Please compact your project by going to File>Compact Project when you launch NVivo.
