Screen scaling on high DPI displays

Recommended Posts

kelvinlau    5

I am currently running NVivo 11.2.1.616 Windows 64-bit on a computer with a high resolution display (MacBook Pro Retina 15", Windows 10 Home 64-bit, Apple Boot Camp). The display is currently set at 175% scaling.

The fonts and graphics in NVivo 11 do not appear to scale with the resolution settings, with all UI elements appearing blurry.

I'm also having this problem. Any solutions?

Thanks.

EDIT: Actually, I'm having this problem on x64 windows 10 on a pc, not a mac. I see this is the mac forum.

I managed to solve this problem myself - I didn't hear back from QSR Support.

This is a font scaling problem that is related specifically to Windows 10.  It does not appear to be an issue on Windows 8.1.

Two possible solutions:

  • Use a small utility called XPExplorer to force Windows 10 to use WIndows 8.1 scaling method (can be downloaded at http://windows10_dpi_blurry_fix.xpexplorer.com/); or
  • Set shortcut compatibility mode for NVivo to "Override high DPI scaling behaviour. Scaling performed by:" and select "Application" from drop-down menu.
