Finding sources not coded to specified nodes

Hello,

Is anyone able to tell me please how to find sources not coded to any of a selected list of nodes?

I've been trying to use advanced find, and can find sources coded to specified nodes, but there doesn't seem to be a "not coded to" option like there is when querying.

If this is not possible in 11 pro, is it in 12 pro?

Hello Sally,

It is possible to reach what you would like to have in both 11 and 12.

I m going to give an example from the sample project. 

Let's say you would like to find out interviews that are not coded with node "agriculture".

First, perform a coding query with the criteria below:

Selected items>Files>Interviews Folder

All of the following are true

Coded ar All Selected Codes or Cases> Agriculture

The summary tab of query results will provide all the interviews that are coded with "agriculture" 

Select all files > Right click> Create As Node  (give a definitive name like "coded-Ag")

Then modify your coding query as below: 

Selected items>Files>Interviews Folder

All of the following are true

Not Coded ar All Selected Codes or Cases> Coded-Ag

The summary tab of query results will provide you all the interviews that are not coded with "agriculture".

Select all interviews then you can either create a set or node with a name "Not-coded-Ag"
